I booked a 2 week East/West Caribbean cruise on the Ruby. What I didn't realize was that it's 2 - 1 week cruises back-to-back. Never again. Much different clientele onboard....wedding parties, kids, party-hardy crowd. Not to my taste.

Pre-cruise pkg was a 1 night stay at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper resort (which is now an O Resort). This hotel should be avoided at all cost! It's an old, run-down place in the middle of nowhere! Unless you had transportation, you had to walk more than a mile to find a deli. I was in the 'newer' Marina Tower (great ocean view), but upon arrival (had to haul my own bags), there was a man in my room. He had sprayed something that smelled like Raid all around. I had to leave the door and window open quite a while to let that smell dissipate. Then I found out the door was extremely hard to open from the outside. You had to really put your shoulder into it. All issues were brought to the attention of the desk clerks, but they could have cared less.

Embarkation day was a mess. There was no welcome letter from Princess upon arrival at the hotel. I had to call the local number to get departure info. Luggage was not picked up, so I hauled it to the lobby myself and the Princess rep said to just leave it in the middle of the lobby and it would be taken care of. I refused to do that and made sure the porter took control of it instead.
