I cruised with my husband – I am 50 and he is late 40’s. We have cruised on Royal, Carnival, and NCL and decided to try Princess because of a great last minute deal and we had heard the service was great. We live in Florida so we packed and drove from Clearwater to Fort Lauderdale.
Embarkation: Although Princess seemed to be lacking in employees to provide guidance and direction and had no pens or writing area to complete health forms … and were quite disorganized, we arrived at 1:30 and were on board within about 30 minutes. Our room was ready as well.
Cabin: We had a guaranteed balcony and were happy to have been upgraded to an aft balcony – we have always wanted to try one. The balcony was quite large. Drawbacks of this room: the bathroom is very small and the shower tiny tiny tiny; you are pretty far from everything except the aft pool and that is OK for us, but if walking a distance is an issue you may want to choose another location. Also the vibration when the boat is docking or cruising at a faster rate you will probably not be able to sleep. Also in most lines’ balcony room you have a couch and table in this room you only have a writing desk which doubles as a vanity. On the plus side, the balconies are very large and private and the closet was huge.
