My boyfriend and I just returned from our 3 night cruise on the Norwegian Sky. He was a first-time cruiser, and I have been on three other cruises before (Disney and Royal Carribbean). Given the low price, I did not expect the Sky to live up to the caliber of vacations I was used to, but I was quickly proven wrong. Our vacation started out on the wrong foot - the airline lost our checked bag, leaving us with only our carry on with a couple outfits and necessities. We were told to make purchases that were necessary, and that Spirit airlines would reimburse us after our trip - so we did. There was an outdoor shopping mall within walking distance of the Port of Miami, so we walked there and picked up some outfits for the cruise on the morning of embarkation. Embarkation went smoothly, and soon enough we were off!

The cruise staff was phenomenal, and very welcoming and energetic. The weather was perfect for our whole trip - which meant smooth, flawless water and no "rocking" at all. The cruise promotion we received during booking allowed us to dine at all three specialty restaurants free of charge - this was awesome. The first night we ate dinner at Cagney's (the steakhouse) - my advice: order the Baked Potato Soup - it was amazing!! The second night we went to Il Adagio - get the fried calamari (end of story). The final night we ate at Le Bistro - a more dressy experience and very yummy - the creme brulee was phenomenal.

The Guest Services staff was VERY helpful, and knew us by name due to our luggage disaster. They were extremely accommodating and even gave us a couple T-shirts, toiletry packages, and even complimentary laundry services - wow! We easily booked dinner and shore excursion reservations during the first evening. In Nassau, we chose the Seahorse Sail and Snorkel - this was so much fun AND included complimentary rum punch on the sail back to the ship. We also visited Senor Frogs - lots of college kids, very loud and fun for adults - I wouldn't recommend for families. NCL's private island - Great Stirrup Cay - was beautiful. The beaches were great, everything was clean, and the bars were plentiful. We chose to do the Stingray City Bahamas excursion, and loved it! We highly recommend it to others. If you keep walking around the island, you will come to a "private" lagoon, which we swam in and layed by. We were the only guests in this location - it felt very remote and private! Overall, we rated our experience as EXCELLENT!! We highly recommend this vacation, and were sad to disembark. We are already planning our next cruise with NCL! :)
