My wife and I just returned from our 7-night cruise on the Celebrity Summit to the Southern Caribbean. It was a port-intensive itinerary: St. Croix, St. Kitts, Dominica, Grenada and St. Thomas.

Overall, it was a good cruise. We did ship-arranged shore excursions in every port, so this cruise was much more of an active one than a relaxing one. We enjoyed the size of the Summit. It was perhaps the smallest ship we've sailed since the Coral Princess, and it was easy to navigate the ship and it never felt crowded. Although the Summit is relatively old, its recent "Solsticizing" upgrades gave the public areas on Decks 4 and 5 a more modern feel. Overall, I would describe ship's decor as subdued, with neutral tones and tasteful furnishings. Of course, given the dates we sailed, they had added holiday decorations which were tastefully done. We especially liked the decks-high light strings and wreaths they placed above the Grand Foyer.

Our cabin 6089 was fine, with good storage and average sized balcony. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was showing some age, as other reviewers have commented, with a cracked tile here and spotty caulking there, but nothing that bothered me and in fact I thought the shower was one of the more larger, comfortable ones I've had in a standard balcony stateroom. Connie, our cabin steward and her assistant did a wonderful job, and always greeted us warmly when we saw them. She introduced herself within minutes of us entering the cabin for the first time, and went over various details with us.
