This was our 4th AMA cruise and 8th overall river cruise. We learned 48 hours prior to boarding that high water levels had dictated a change in our embarkation city as well an overall reshuffling of ports on our itinerary.

AMA did an outstanding job of working through these issues. Extra staff was brought aboard to facilitate the changes and make sure all passengers arrived at the new port of embarkation. We visited all ports in our itinerary, just in a different order than originally planned. The only downside for us was the shortened time in Lyon, which turned out to be our favorite of all the ports visited.

We were a bit concerned about booking the AmaDagio since it is the oldest boat in AMA's current fleet, but this concern was put to rest as soon as we boarded. AmaDagio was lovely, very well maintained and had the warm and welcoming decor we have come to expect from AMA. Read more
