Sail Date: Dec 2014

We just got off a 7 day cruise out of Miami on the NCL Epic. The stops were Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. The ship is huge but none of the common areas, dining, theater and bars seemed any bigger than the other smaller NCL ships.

First the positives... the ships is in great condition and the Howl at the Moon and Blue Man group were fun to watch. The water slides were fun and fast all ages in our group enjoyed these. The food was more seasoned on this ship from the other NCL cruises I have taken( 9 in the past with 1 of those on Carnival) this could be due to the fact that it was a much younger age group on this sailing.

The negatives were it was such a large ship I felt like a number. Our room steward was friendly but never bothered to learn our name. Once you saw a show( there were only 2 going in the Epic theater you could not go again unless there were open seats at showtime then it was first come first serve. The Main dining rooms were pretty slow, The Taste was quicker of the 2 free main dining rooms. We also had a discrepancy in billing not a big deal but pricing on the menu from the TV and the price charged were different we never did hear back from the front desk. Also so many things were at a additional cost, ie movies, you had 1 movie channel with older movie to watch in your room. They had a big screen with movies every night. Pools were too small and crowded on sea days. I will stay to NCL's smaller ships and perhaps look in to Royal in the future

Cabin Review

no smaller than other ships bathroom is broken up so shower and toilet are on different sides. Larger closets with plenty of room. Stool in the room just gets in the way we threw ours in the closet
