This was my first extended cruise and after selecting Carnival I learned it was a big party cruise experience. That's not exactly my cup of tea but if it was true late at night it didn't impinge at all on our cruise experience. Staff were extremely accommodating bending over backwards to help us with special needs such as our being on the Kosher food plan and regular breakfast room service for the spouse person. The cruise director Robin was great, the entertainment was absolutely first rate and we enjoyed the comedians. The comedians had several performances in the Degas room, one for family entertainment (without curse words) and another late at night for adults only.
The excursions were well planned with my only my gripe that on our St. Thomas snorkeling trip to Turtle Cove there was no Carnival staff directing us on where to gather and we had to meander a while to find it.
The tour in Puerto Rico ended 1/2 hour early and I would have like to have that time further exploring the fort in San Juan although the tour guide was very good.
Room was bigger than I expected with plenty of closet space, outlets and well designed. Once, late at night our toilet overflowed and by the time I figured out that all you needed to do to stop it was to re-flush some water spilled onto the carpet. It probably was our fault using too much toilet paper. Staff came quickly to be sure it was working properly and to clean up the water.
