Although a one night delay in Sydney, We finally boarded on a 14 night trip to the south pacific. There is no public transport to White Bay cruise terminal and the Taxi fare was $35.00. The boarding process at White bay terminal was smooth and well conducted. This was our first princess cruise and your expectation when booking is to visit all ports, we missed out on two ports. The cruise was delayed 24 hours so we missed a day and also missing our second port of call, Vila Vanuatu. Dravuni Island was also cancelled due to poor weather. We were reimbursed $4.12 for missing that port….

Hoping for a younger crowd, my 18 year old daughter could not believe the age group. On-board the sun princess, the patrons were elderly, like an average age of people in their 70's and therefore the entertainment was focused at that age group. There are many people in wheelchairs and walking frames. The nightly entertainment was very disappointing with one show nightly. We did not find much entertainment aimed at a younger age group. If you wanted to get a seat in the Princess Theater, be prepared to get there at least 30 minutes before the starting time, as it did fill up quickly and many people had to stand. The comedian was terrible and most people walked out.

Service was excellent on the ship; the staff did an amazing job in looking after everyone. The food was to a high quality every night and catered well for dietary requirements. On formal nights, seafood and lobster was on the menu in the dining room. Formal nights were lots of fun, with a champagne waterfall and a balloon drop on those nights. There was always something to suit everyone’s tastes, including Verdi’s Pizza, International Café, Horizon court and the Terrance Grill. Don’t bother with the drinks package, the post-mix tasted like plastic. Try before you buy!! I had it refunded. The ship was always very clean and they did an excellent job. But unfortunately the guests did not take up on their offer and often handled food with bare hands rather than the implements provided. In the public bathrooms on board the ship there was paper towel to open and close the doors and they were very well stocked and always displayed the correct hand washing procedure. They also provided hand sanitiser throughout the ship and always had at least two machines at every eatery.

Cabin Review

Balcony

On deck 10, there was no problem with the size of the room; we had twin beds with a balcony. The bathroom was a reasonable size. There was also a flat screen TV in the stateroom which had a fantastic range of free movies that you could watch anytime.
