We have cruised probably 20 times before and having read previous reviews I was prepared for the worst and was pleasantly surprised. Yes the ship is old and if you look you can see that it is not the usual 5 star standard but on the whole we enjoyed it. A lot of this was probably due to the fact that we upgraded to a Royal Suite and really were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived on the dock.

The suite was fabulous with a huge balcony which unfortunately was overlooked from the cabins above (inconsiderate design) so we did not spend a lot of time there.

We had a butler, Alfred, (how posh is that) and he was great. He delivered breakfast in the morning and afternoon tea and sorted out any problems we had. We did have brown water coming from the taps one afternoon but that was sorted out very quickly.

Lovely suite but balcony is overlooked by cabins on the decks above and from parts of the main buffet on deck ten.
