I have been on 8 cruises with Carnival and this was my 9th cruise first with Royal Caribbean. We flew into Fort Lauderdale and bused over to Cape Canaveral to board the ship. The embarkation was horrible! It took over two hours to get on the ship. However, after that everything went smoothly. The ship was beautiful and we only had Carnival to compare it too, so we gave the boat to RCC. The kids loved the camps and made some friends and had a blast. This was the first time we took the children and they loved it! The kids loved the Flow Rider and the rock climbing. There was a lot of cool contests and activites in this area for both young and old. The entertainment was great especially the ice show. We gave a tie with Carnival for entertainment. We did not like that so many activities seemed to start at 11PM which was a little late for us especially having kids. Also, it seemed that the activity times were spread out too much.

We loved the cruise director Casey Peter, very funny and entertaining. Dinner was a major bust! On Carnival they do singing and dancing every night at dinner, but not at RCC. Our waiter had the personality of a rock and the service was sub par, however the food was awesome. Dinner was really boring and we were really dissapointed in this as we really enjoyed this with Carnival and give them the major edge on this. Overall, we felt that Carnival was much more upbeat and there was always some dancing and music going on on the lido deck, which did not seem so much with RCC. I also felt that the staff overall were more interactive and fun with cruisers with Carnival than RCC.

The ports were great and we had a lot of fun at their private beach Coco Cay. The kids loved the inflatable water park and for the money we highly reccommend this activity. We went on the Tikki boat at St. Thomas and went to Honey Moon Beach which was just great. We shopped till we dropped in St. Marteen. Unfortunately, due to winds and waves we were almost 2 hours late to St. Thomas so we lost those hours and some of the excursions were even cancelled due to time restrictions. Disembarkation was good and organized as we had an early flight and needed to be off quickly which they were able to do. Overall, we had a good time, we personally liked Carnival better, but you cannot go wrong with a cruise regardless.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Rooms are super tiny, but we did not care as we are never in our room so this was not a big deal to us. My in-laws had a balcony room which was awesome and we enjoyed using their balcony during the cruise.
