Cabin:

I was concerned about booking this cruise after the iffy reviews MSC got but it satisfied my criteria of debarkation port - Southampton, ports visited - Northern Europe, and number of nights I had available - 7. The ship is smaller than the big lines have but quite honestly I preferred it for ease of getting around the ship and fewer people. It was well maintained and showed little signs of wear.

The staff and crew were very amenable and pleasant. Our cabin attendant was top notch. When the maître d' in the dining room heard my husband hadn't gotten the kind of gin he requested, he said to ask for him to get his drink from then on. the wait staff there was accommodating with just an occasional language misunderstanding. And after the first morning of ordering lattes for my husband and me in the Tiger Lounge, they were offered each subsequent morning when I appeared there.

The entertainment was pleasant, not on the ice skating, cirque du soliel extravaganza variety (which I find fails as often as it succeeds.) But the brief shows were well orchestrated in a lovely, well appointed and comfortable theater.

Cabin Review

Cabin 12

Very commodious cabin and though right around the corner from the elevator, not noisy. Lots of closet and drawer space. Took me a while to discover the safe behind the mirror. :) (Actually the cabin attendant had to show me. Duh.) Nice size bathroom. The liquid soap can be a bit annoying sometimes but I understand the concept and a lot of hotels in Europe are going that way. Roomy balcony. Internet wasn't perfect but I didn't expect it to be, even at the price it was. In port it was always good. Really didn't watch TV so can't comment except to say it worked. Fantastic attendant.
