This was our 8th cruise and 3rd on Norwegian. I say that so anyone reading this will know that we are not novices to cruising.
The Breakaway is beautiful and obviously very new, and pretty easy to get around despite it's size. We found the main pool area too small and confined, and therefore often too crowded. All public areas are very nice and accessible and adequately spaced, however the Bliss Lounge is nothing like on older Norwegian Ships. The cabin hallways are noticably narrower than on other ships we've been on, and they almost always had house keeping carts and equipment in them all day and night.
The Garden Cafe is a very good size and nicely set up so there was rarely any wait time to speak of, and the food is very good and varied. The service in the Uptown Grill leaves something to be desired. There is often a long wait and they got at least one of our orders wrong each time. (We were a party of 5.) O'Sheehans Pub is very good, but limited, but I thought the corned beef was really excellent. Making reservations for the 3 included dining rooms was a bit of a pain, but better than the long wait times for those who didn't make reservations. MAKE RESERVATIONS! So much for "free style cruising...."
Great cabin and great location, even though it's all the way aft. Easy access to the Garden Cafe and pool deck. We love the extra length of the aft facing cabins and had them bring in 2 lounge chairs. A bit smaller than Carnival's newer ships, but very adequate.
