We were cruising as a family (2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 2) for our first time so we have nothing to compare it to but what we experienced has only made us want to cruise again!

We originally booked an Oceanview Room (deck 1) but a few weeks prior to departing, on Nov 26th, we were given an upgrade to Extended Balcony (deck 8)...having now cruised with a balcony I really doubt we could go without one next tme....it was lovely being able to open the door to let fresh air in and to sit out on the balcony in the morning and late afternoons.

We had 12-1230 check in and it ran very smoothly....we lined up at midday and were on the ship by 1230pm.

We were in room 8175 and it suited us, queen bed, a sofa and the pull down top bunk. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. Our 4 empty suitcases fitted under the queen bed with ease. The only negative thing I will say about the room is that it had one of the old style TV's...not the flat screen as advertised and the TV had a green tinge to the screen....but that is the only bad thing about the room. We were a bit concerned about the noise that we would get when deck party (theme nights) were taking place....Yes, there was noise...but not as much as I expected, more from moving deckchairs around and not enough to stop you falling asleep or to wake you from sleep (and I am a light sleeper!)
