Unpacked, final load of laundry drying, so time to write the review. Overall a great Thanksgiving week in the Eastern Caribbean. I have written this based on my opinions and comments made by my wife and two others traveling in our party. This was our 6th Thanksgiving Cruise the four of us have taken together, previous five on Carnival, so our first with Celebrity.
We flew into Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday and spent the day seeing family and just relaxing. Since we a had a rental car I returned it on Sunday morning and took the free shuttle to the port. That was a mistake. The bus was really full, we dropped off after the Allure and had to pick up people getting off the Allure and going to the airport. The shuttle to almost an hour for a 10 minute ride. Next time 10 bucks and straight to the ship. Lots of construction in the port area so give yourself plenty of time.
Embarkation: A breeze for us. My wife had brought the luggage to the ship (road with family and new grandbaby) and the luggage was unloaded from the car and she never saw the bags again until they arrived in our room around 230 that afternoon. I arrived a little later and at approx. 12:35 we entered the bldg to start the process and by 12:45 we were on the ship upgrading our drink packages. No problems, no issues, friendly staff members, a great way to start the vacation.
The room was wonderful, a bit smaller than Carnival but a better layout. The bathroom was 10x better then Carnival with the extra room and nicer products. They don't bring ice everyday but if you ask, it will be delivered to your cabin twice a day. Couldn't have been happier with the cabin
