This was our 9th cruise with RCCL with my wife and two boys 15 and 12. We have cruised from the Monarch to the Freedom and everything in between. Much like going to your favorite chain restaurant but in a different city, you have a pretty good idea what to expect when you cruise with RCCL. Consistency is not always a bad thing when traveling. Windjammer...same...busy, but decent food, easily available. MDR- great, food maybe not quite as good or my palate is getting a little pickier, but overall very good and the service we have all come to know and love was excellent. My family takes a poll at the end of every cruise to see what was everyone favorite part and for me, it is the MDR. We don't do a lot of really nice family dinners at home so the opportunity to sit and talk with very good food and very good service is worth the price of admission for the cruises. As for the Liberty. It was in great shape, cabin was pristine, common areas spotless and crew were as responsive as ever.

Did the drink package. While I can drink for a day with the best of them, 5 days worth was too much. I found the best way to use it best was to go for good wine ( up to $12 per glass) and then if you have 4 glasses a day, you would breakeven. I tried a beer day and a vodka and tonic day but I found myself pushing to "break even" which led to some very unpleasant mornings. The only problem with the $12 glasses of wine is the options were very limited ( or they were out of stock on some) so either you went with lesser or paid extra for better. We did a combination of both, worked out well.

Overall, another great cruise. Kids loved it more than we did and we really liked it.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Great room, not a huge difference between other balconies but the king bed and large sofa bed allowed our kids a more comfortable stay. Worth some extra $$ for the comfort.
