My wife and I arrived early for departure only to find that we would not be allowed to board for 6 hours because the ship needed to be disinfected. We received a free ride to downtown Long Beach, so for 6 hours we ate and drank on our own dime. When it was time to board buses for the return to the ship we were yelled at by a Princess employee named Nick (a person who has no reason to be around paying passengers). Once we got into the terminal it took Princess another hour and a half to get us on board. Roughly 7 and half hours after our scheduled boarding time.
I can honestly say that out of the 6 Princess cruises we have taken, this was far and away the worst. I am of the understanding that this crew had been at sea for 28 days and then had to disinfect the ship, but there was no excuse for the overall performance of the crew. My wife saw crew members yelling at each other in front of passengers. Crew members walked past trash on the floors such as plates, glasses and pieces of paper. I am not saying that Princess is horrible because as I said we have taken 6 cruises on Princess and I should compliment those individuals who went out of their way.
A young lady named Emily who worked in Long Beach and helped get people on board the buses to return to the ship in the beginning (She made Nick rather irrelevant and in fact made passengers laugh). I would also thank the Art Team, Aiste Butrue, Jana Babouder-Matta and Georg Straub. These individuals were all very professional. The rest of the crew that comes in contact with passengers I would give them a "D" grade.
Our cabin was very good and one of the only redeeming things about the cruise.
