I've cruised to Caribbean a few times on RC and NCL, and picked MSC this time purely because of the bargain price. Thought we should be fine as we are familiar with the destinations, and how bad can a one-year old ship be! Now I'd say bargain price does come with bargain experience.

The ship: it's one-year old but it doesn't look any newer than a 10yr old RC or NCL ship, and this is the first ship I see with stained linen. There's not much decor in the ship, just mirror, steel and LED everywhere. The stairs in the theater are very poorly designed, with a bright LED strip on each step--when you walk up, you see all the glares instead of the steps, i.e. much better chance to trip; and if you trip, the hard metal edge on the stairs don't help. I saw two seniors fall on the very first night.

The cabin: I'm used to 165 sqft cabin rooms; so the 135 sqft cabin felt crowded for me. There's barely table space and less storage. Only impressive design is the acrylic shower door.

Cabin Review

Rooms are about 135 sqft. Meaning smaller storage areas and nearly no table space. Bathrooms have a nice design with shower doors, not curtains. But unfortunately there is plumbing oder.
