My wife and i and friend sailed on what rcl said was the inaugural cruise. BIG mistake! The ship is in fact months away from being ready for an inaugural cruise. i have been on 70 plus cruises so I have some idea of what a finished ship should look and function like. D+ on this voyage! The 1000 irritations title comes from the virtual none stop of mostly small things, for example every day one of us would have a problem with wow band or room key. Cruise staff did not tell us if one is changed others may or may not need to be changed . Another example of an extreme nuisance (and inexcusable) is getting stuck on an elevator. This happened way too often to be a fluke. This cruise was our anniversary and our friend had informed rcl months in advance of our celebration and they did nothing. They were reminded several more times onboard. This is very not rcl. This is the first time we stayed in grande suite. Service was real bad. Cabin steward was nice, but clearly inexperienced. Room not made up most days until after 12 and we had left room earlier and told him. We had to repeatedly ask for shampoo, coffee, ice, etc. The list keeps going, but i do not have enough time to write" War and Peace." This new ship concept rcl has introduced many great ideas, however this is really a new cruise concept for loyal Royal cruisers, as well as newbies and should be promoted as such, so we repeat cruisers wouldn't expect the traditional activities, (which some of us look forward to). It's great to introduce new ideas, but marketing to agents was poorly conducted. As one staff member commented rcl and celebrity mated and out came out with quantum. in the future this new launch will most likely be a case study in MBA programs through out the world! rcl has really pissed myself and a lot of other loyal customers off. Next cruise is on carnival.
