This is the first time I have ever written a review about my cruise and we have cruised many times. The Getaway is the first NCL cruise we have taken,we chose this ship because it was new and we liked the itinerary. We purchased the unlimited beverage package and also the ultimate dining package. Our first night we at the Illusionarium where the magic show is held. The show was good but the food was awful, I couldn't even eat the meat. I looked at my husbands plate and he didn't eat his either which was odd. One night we went to Teppanyaki, the food was "ok" but the entertainment was not so good, a lot of banging on the cooktop with salt and pepper shakers. My husband ordered the seafood and it was so salty he couldn't eat it and the dessert omg it was nasty nasty nasty. Moderno Churrascaria was ok if you like a ton of meat and salad bar. Le Bistro French Restaurant was good, very rich food. Cagney's Steakhouse did have an awesome ribeye so we ate there twice. My husband tried Ocean Blue on the Waterfront for a snack one day and he said it was good, I'm not a fan of seafood so I just watched him eat. La Cucina Italian Restaurant was pretty much standard Italian food. The breakfast and lunch buffet had the same thing everyday with an occasional different item at lunch but pretty much the same exact food 7 days. The Ice Bar was fun but nobody stayed in there for more than 2-3 minutes but fun to take a few pictures. The Comedy Club was fun but we were disappointed with the dueling pianos because they never sang any songs we liked. The ship does have a nice spa area. I doubt we will do another NCL cruise, they messed up our bill and we didn't have time to deal with it because we had an early flight the day of departure, still waiting to hear back on that.
