The reason I am writing this review is due to the negative reviews I have read previously about this ship which I did not encounter at all. Although the ship is not fancy like some of the Royal Carribbean and Carnival ships I've sailed on, it is in good shape and we did not have any plumbing problems. We were in cabin 7031 that was tastefully decorated. There was a nice sized balcony that had two chairs and a comfy ottoman to put our feet up along with a little table. The crew was fantastic. There was not one occasion where we were not greeted with a smile and a "hello"...not one time, no matter what anyone was doing!

The food was always good...even on the Lido deck. Food and service in the MDR was perfect. We never made reservations and had to sometimes wait for a table for 2 for only about 10 minutes, but we were given a beeper and were able to comfortably wait at the nearby bar area. We were also given the choice to be seated immediately at a shared table. My favorite item on the dinner menu was the chilled banana soup. My prime rib or sirloin steak was always cooked to the perfect temperature and never dried out or tough. Everyone was very attentive.

As for the shows, they were ok. Bottom line...I would definitely cruise again with Holland America . I have been on Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Carnival several times.. I loved the fact that we didn't have drinks sold to us at every turn or pressured to buy drinks of the day at the pool area like the other lines do. The soda card also worked very well and the bar tenders gladly got our soda whenever we asked. It was a great cruise and with all cruises, you get out what you put in. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
