Having sailed with Carnival 1 year ago on the Legend out of Tampa I had high hopes for a similarly wonderful time. Boy was I in for a shock. The ship is very old and looks worn out. The crew morale seemed very low and I was surprised to not receive the same welcoming smiles and greetings from the stewards that I had experienced on the Legend. Everything just seemed down.

The cabin (Riviera 125) was small but doable for my brother and I but upon entering we noticed an odor lingering throughout the room. The bathroom was very cramped and when you operated the shower the entire floor flooded. The toilet flushed maybe 1 out of every 4 attempts and the water remained a light brown color throughout most of the cruise. The water from the sink vacillated between clear and that same toilet light brown which was unsettling when it came time to brush your teeth or do any other hygiene activities. Our safe didn't work at first but after about an hour of being bounced around from Guest Services to Housekeeping and even Room Service our steward finally showed up and replaced the battery.

I've read another review here recently that the crew morale was an issue and I would have to strongly agree. On the Legend I got very used to being greeted by all staff and the sense of pride in the ship and their posts was very evident. On the Sensation it really felt like most of the staff just didn't even want to be there.
