Let me preface this review by stating the simple fact that although this was our 3rd Norwegian crew (previously on both the "Gem" & the "Jewel") Norwegian has fallen into a category of "convenience" rather than one of "great expectations". The later category has always been relegated to cruise lines such as "Celebrity".
As we are both very active "60"-somethings we never plan a cruise with the intent of bringing young ones along. My wife & I both gop for the food (which is why we never eat in the Norwegian dining rooms)... I especially go for the music (not the "entertainment"... to actual elusive on-board musicianship... I myself play with several groups.
With about 20 cruises under our belts we never really get excited about the staged shows... we REALLY NEVER get excited about the electronic-techno-watch-the-piano-player-press-a-button-while-the-sound-of-an-orchestra-magically-appears acts. And while we generally do find at least one genuinely alented musical group we're never sure it'll "happen" before it actually does... at which time we know our cruise has been "made".
WARNING.... BE CAREFUL when booking a balcony to request that your bed be near the sliding glass doors leading outside... if you get a balcony with a :mirror-image floor plan the closet will be very difficult to access !!!!Our room was spacious, kept wonderfully clean by our room attendant Radwell Torres, and with the exception of the noise factor mentioned above was far better than we'd expected from Norwegian.
