Sail Date: Oct 2014

I did the back-to-back cruise departing Rome October 6, returning October 17, then October 17 through to Miami on the Transpacific relocation - a total of 26 days at sea. This was exactly what I was after - 11 days with lots of sightseeing and then good stretches of relaxation on the transatlantic portion.

I've been on five other cruise lines and found Celebrity's Reflection to be extremely comfortable with lots of places to just hang out. It was contemporary with lots of artwork and bespoke pieces. You certainly did not feel like you had 3000 other travel companions. I found all the staff to be extremely welcoming and helpful who had a ready smile. I stayed in two different staterooms (Ocecanview and Balcony) and have to admit the bed valances could have been in better condition - they looked like they hadn't been laundered in a while. Otherwise I found everything in very good condition and especially liked having sliding shower doors instead of curtains.

There were plenty of dining options and yes fair to say you had to pay a premium to do so but that is the case on most cruises. The Oceanview Cafe's selection was generous with plenty of options. The Passport bars' Sherika was a delight who remembered names and your favourite beverage! The bar was very popular, particularly on the Transpasific crossing as loyalty members redeemed coupons, therefore seating was at a premium.
