Having taken well over 20 cruises in the last few years I believe I have a pretty good handle on what is good, what is bad, and what really stinks, having experienced them all. With that said, I needed a quick get-away with my wife, in such, we booked the Celebrity Summit October 25th, 2014. We stayed in Celebrity Suite 8106. After booking it I had some major apprehension when I came to this site, a trusted source, as the reviews from the summer were less then stellar, the complaints about the ship looking tired and old, the staff’s attitude and such did give me pause, but I crossed my fingers and went anyway, as most cruises are what you make them. I did note that most of the bad reviews were for sailing from Bayonne NJ, which I sailed out of once, and will never again, the clientele and their expectations were certainly a culture shock. Jersey Shore hits the Caribbean. The cruises are cheap, and manner, manners, manners!

With that said, if you are booked on the Summit, please relax and enjoy, I have been on every RCCL ship, and a few of the Celebrity, and others, (now preferring Celebrity over all), and this ship has a beauty that is hard to describe. It is warm, CLEAN, comforting, modern, not overcrowded, and the staff is stellar, the BEST of any Celebrity Ship I have sailed. Jole (female from belgium), Michaels club concierge is what celebrity stands for, she was not just doing her job, but she cared and she made our cruise special. Julia and Kevin at Michael's same, our Room Butler Issabello, 20 years on the job, anticipated our every need. Erika Captains Club, guest services, room attendants, Fabian in custom excursions, nivia and lisa at the future cruise desk, I could go on, this crew is in my opinion better than any I have encountered. As for the room, let me just say if you have a chance to stay in a Celebrity Suite, do it!! We did because the price was right, we normally go concierge, and this room, all the windows, the furnishing, the art, (in fact throughout the ship) was great. The deck is a bit of a weird shape but it is because it was added on, but it is still large and expansive. It was a wonderful room, and the bathroom is great, you can see the ocean from the shower!

The room was very clean, and I have seen not clean, RCCL Explorer and Adventure, ugh.....The ship was clean. I cannot say enough about this ship, the oldest ship I have been on and the nicest if you are looking to just slow down, relax, not see a lot of people, and be taken care off. Note the casino was also very very quiet and clean, note to RCCL SMOKE FREE -
