We traveled to Houston the day before the cruise and stayed at the Hobby Airport La Quinta. $69 for the night book though Southwest, $30 less expensive than any other booking engine I could find. Some times I wonder how all this works! La Quinta has an airport shuttle that we used. The hotel it's self was nice, clean, friendly. There aren't any restaurants in the immediate area, so we settled on Pizza delivery. The next morning we used Uber car service to get to the port. $90. It was black car service, but if you could fit everything into a standard Uber Prius or other little car it's about half. I believe the fare would have been lower, but there is alot of road construction going on at the turn off to the port and we drove around trying to find a way to the port facility for 15 minutes or so. We taxied back to Hobby and it cost $84.

The new cruise terminal beats the old container port! We are platinum and swept through the maze and in about 15 minutes were on the ship.

This ship is one of our favorites. No to big, not to small. The high point on this cruise was the food. I've been critical of the food we have had in the main dining rooms the last few cruises. The cuts were poor, uninspired and a small selection. That has changed. The choices with the new menu are vast. More choices, and better choices (IMHO) than ever before. The Chateaubriand served one night was beyond excellent. The rack of Lamb was excellent as well. I'm not generally a gluttonous guy, but I had both one night after tasting Jinglette's Chateaubriand. We had four dinners at the Main Dining rooms and had no complaints at all. We had two dinners at La Bistro, our favorite restaurant of NCL's, both were very good. We also dined at Cagney's and it was good. But, just good. IMO the filet at La Bistro is just as good and $10 cheaper. We also had lunch at the Sushi house. Sushi, noodles, and dimsum. All good, ala cart pricing.
