This was my very first cruise, so I went into it with an open mind. The family members that I traveled with had all cruised before on other ships, and they were not as happy with this one. However, with nothing else to compare it to, I loved cruising on the Carnival Sunshine. It only took me one day to get used to the layout of the ship.
Our room steward was always nice and greeted us all by name every time he saw us. Our room was always tended to when we were at breakfast and again at dinner.
We had late dining in the MDR every night and I adored our wait staff! Most of all our head waiter, Georgicá, but all of our waiters were very charming. We all brought drinks to dinner, so after the first night, they scooped our glasses up to fill them with ice as soon as we sat down. Our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time and it was all delicious! I also enjoyed the food at the buffet and we brought our food into the Havana bar to eat since we liked the atmosphere and views.
There was more than enough space for all 4 of us to store clothes. Beds were reasonably comfortable. We did feel the rocking of the ship on a couple of nights, but not so much that it kept us awake. No problems with any of the equipment in the room (toilet, shower, tv, etc.)
