QUEBEC CITY PRE-CRUISE DESTINATION

We had an uneventful flight into Quebec City from Houston, always good to start out the cruise.  The airport in Quebec City is small enough that it is a breeze to navigate.  We were on the ground, a short taxi ride into the old part of the city and arrived at the Le Priori hotel on Rue Sault Au Matelot before dark.  We had a warm greeting and very shortly able to settle into our Junior Suite room.

The room was very warm and modern in décor.  It had a great bathroom with separate shower, my husband wants to duplicate, and huge jet tub for bathing.  We caught our breaths for a while and planned our evening in the city.  Our pick for dinner was the Lapin Saute, a small restaurant close to the hotel.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

OUR CABIN – CABIN 6000The minute we got to the room our first impressions was that this cabin was a lot smaller than our other experiences with a balcony room.  It felt small and it looked small.  The bathroom had some updating and that was an added plus.  The room did not have a fridge so we could not keep water cool or anything else.  Also for some reasons the side tables had their drawers removed and that seemed to take from our space. And because of the small space they removed the couch and left a chair only. Now that I have said all that, after we finally really settled in and after a day or two we realized that really the room size was smaller, we did not have a fridge or small couch, but really it did not matter.  We were able to use the chair just as we used the couch on other cruises.  The fridge is nice but really we don’t need one.  The missing side table drawers did not hurt in any way, we were still able to use the shelves that worked just fine. The television was good, although because we had bad seas or remoteness we were very limited, and the balcony with chairs and table were great, even though we had some really bad weather on many days so we did not use our balcony as we have in so many other cruises.  Lastly, I just have another plus and minus to express about this cabin.  The room location works for a positive and negative.  The location is ideal for a quiet room.  It is literally the last room on the front left side of the ship. There is absolutely no traffic other than some crew that passes.  The negative is that this is the worst place to be when you are going through a storm.  We literally rocked and rolled one night from 11pm to 5am the next morning.  It was not only scary but if you’re prone to seasickness don’t get this cabin.Last, our cabin steward was outstanding.  I can’t remember his full name because I always called him Fleur.  I believe it is Fleurania.  Fleur was always there if we needed him, he was very respectful and kept our cabin in perfect shape.  We could tell that Fleur is certainly a seasoned employee.
