we then went for something to eat and a quick look round we went to raffles the buffet and found the food to be poor standard the curry's where salty when i mentioned it to one of the staff he just shrugged his shoulders this became a regular thing one time i complained because the fries were stone cold to the officer in charge and she did the same the chef went and pulled a new bowl from under the counter and poured the hotter ones on top of the cold ones not good at all i basically gave up complaining because nothing was done just a shrug
FOOD
that night we went to the garden restaurant for a nice sit down meal how wrong i was after being seated the waitress took the order and went took ages for the starter to come which in my case was soup at least 20 to 30 mins after we finished that we sat for a while before the plates where removed then waited ages till the main course arrived the wife's and mine did the daughters came a bit later after we had finished ours i told them my sweet potatoes fries where cold so they went and cooked me some more so i ate my new fires while the daughter ate hers and the wife watched because she had finished her meal 10 mins earlier dessert took ages to come as well not a good first night and it didn't get any better after that we tried windows and the service was the same out of the 12 night cruise we got 2 nights good service once in the garden because we where sat next to the head waiters station so they where sending random waiters over to clear plates etc as soon as we finished a course the other time was in windows where we got a decent waiter we had to abandon meals a couple of times due to the time it took to get served courses to get to the show on the 2nd last night we went to cagneys cost me 75 dollars 30 each for adults 15 for the daughter and the service and the food was superb wish i could have afforded to eat there every-night i didnt try any of the other restaurants where you had to pay but they all looked good maybe this is why the food in the non paying is so awful
SHOWS
typical shows singers dancers etc the acrobats where excellent and the magician and the show on the second last night was a mixture of all i liked the British singer and the bee gees group there was also a show which featured 2 blokes playing various instruments this wasn't my cup of tea so we didn't go we went on the carnival sunshine last year and carnivals entertainment was a lot better.entertainment during the day was not the best but mario the cruise director was excellent and made the most of what he had
TRIPS
did all these my self mostly getting off ship jumping on hop on hop off buses Rhodes cost us 10 euro each 5 for daughter so all sites seen 25 euro Istanbul they wanted 75 4 off us jumped in taxi 60 euro all day dropping us off at sites and picking us up at times we requested the grand bazaar was shut because it was Sunday
on the first night the air con making a racket and the wind was blowing through the gap in the balcony window 2 am i couldn't take it any more and went to guest services they gave me sets of earplugs and they sent a bloke who said he would sort it in the morning second night was the same went to guest services again and got a shrug from them asked for some more earplugs and was given sewing kits yes you read it right sewing kits i didn't realize till i returned to the cabin day 3 we told our room Stewart about the noise he phoned the maintenance and they came sorted the air con by resetting it it was still noisy but not as loud we fixed the balcony cabin our selves by jamming a pair of shorts into the gap
we purchased the soda package before we went and was issued with cups and stickers on our room cards if we wanted a soda we just flashed the sticker and we didn't have to sign this as it turned out meant we had very poor drink service and felt like we where treated differently from others for example i ordered a Pepsi at the pool area and received a plastic cup full of ice with Pepsi in it the couple next to us without soda package ordered the same they received Pepsi but also the can it came in to top theirs up after this we noticed when we sat down it took ages to get served but the ones who signed seemed to get served no bother they also got a jar of peanuts to nibble on in some of the bars we didn't in the starlight lounge the bloke next to us ordered a bottle of wine we got Pepsi they couldn't get enough of him and 3 or 4 different waiters returned asking if he wanted another we on the other hand were ignored by them and they just turned and walked away before i could catch there attention even though we had finished our drinks, the only bar were we got good service was in champagne charlies by dinu the waiter
you are also charged 12 dollars a person per day for a service charge i went to the desk and got this reduced due to the bad service i had you need to fill a form in to do this and put a reason i ran out of space on the form
its the worst service i have ever had and i have done around 10 cruises with various company's
i wouldn't recommend this cruise to anyone the only good thing is the ports of call
forgot to mention the kids clubs this was a joke they wasn't many kids aboard and no encouragement to join or participate she enjoyed herself the first time she went but due to lack of kids most activity's where cancelled one night it closed at 5.
