we had awesome cruise from Southampton to Vigo, Gijon, Bilbao (all at Spain) and Le Havre France in Oct 26-Nov2, 2014. Overall we had a blast, a wonderful vacation with no major hickups. Adventure of the Ocean is a beautiful ship with lots of nice people working onboard, itinerary was interesting (although I missed not stepping out of EU zone which made all shopping 20% more expensive due to UK VAT). Food was okay - choises were ample, but it featured mostly food appealing to UK and US customers. To our taste food was a bit too heavy. Different tastes in different parts of world, I agree. And food is subjective! My only complaint was actually about the serving temperature. Food should have been hotter when it arrived to my table.

We had the pleasure to meet Captain Tony Calne who invited us for a dinner on Halloween night - and that of course made our cruise! It was a night to remember! He is a nice fellow from Turku Finland, has great sence of humour and is a good person to represent the ship. We saw him numerous times onboard, and he always stopped to chat for a minute or two.

Embarkation was a nightmare. It was postponed to start at 1.30pm since two or three previous cruises had noro virus problems, and they were doing thorough sanitation. This meant that the port was crouded at 2 pm when we arrived but luckily for us, Platinum and up guests were escorted out of the herd standing outside the building quickly in and on to the ship. Once inside the building, the check in went quickly.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

6680 is standard D3 cabin, the very last on left side before the "aft" cabins. Cabin in good condition, just a little wear & tear visible. standard bathroom, closed metal balcony as this was deck 6.
