Well, we left FL Lauderdale at 10:30 am from the airport via transfer set up with Norwegian for port of Miami. We had arrived in aft Laurerdale the previous night.

We Arrived in Miami port at 11 am. We quickly checked into NCL and were told to go to the stairs where we would be allowed to board in time.

Meanwhile we saw passenger still departing the ship at 11 am. We were not communicated to about the incident taking place. We were not given refreshments. We were being packed like sardines in the area which was a holding area. We were waiting to get our embarkation passes and as so many people had accumulated it was chaos. It took us 3:30 hrs to get on board NCL Pearl. The NCL porters took our bags and Promised that our luggage would arrive in 1 hour and 30 minutes when we originally dropped off our luggage at the pier. This was the absolute Worst embarkation in my history of 16 cruises, no refreshments, no place to sit, people were not informed of why we were not allowed to board the ship. We learned 330 people had not left ship from the prior Ragae cruise which had arrived earlier that morning, coast guard and customs had not cleared ship until after around 2 pm. We finally got onboard the ship, missed our cruise critic picture because we were not all on the ship by 3 pm. At the M&M the next day, the cruise critic group met with Gary the NCL hotel director, who stated embarkation snafu was the fault of the Port Authorities.

Cabin Review

The room was so tiny. There was way too much furniture in the room. I had requested the twin beds set up into a queen bed for my spouse and I. The stool for the tiny vanity was under the chair which went with the square table which was pushed in the corner. I could not get around the bed on the left side because there was no room to pass. The bathroom was the saving grace, roomy shower but the bathroom was not clean when we arrived, soap residue in the soap dishes and the sink. The shower was also stopped up and I reported it to the room steward, who informed me they would take care of it. I also found change on the floor and candy wrappers. Room staff did have a clue of the type of cruise it was, staff asked if this was rum cruise, so they appeared to not have knowledge about which charter they were serving. This room sits behind the laundry room facility for the ship, expect to be awakened early in the morning with noise from the massive laundry machines.
