This was our 2nd cruise with Celebrity.1st one was on Millennium. Our fond memories of that ship/cruise led us to return. We have sailed several Princess and RCL cruises in the past.
The most disappointing feature was the food.We prefer the Dining Room for all our meals. The point of cruise dining for us is to relieve us of all our home dining duties. We are far from being picky eaters,in fact have great love of all food cultures. We didn't expect exotic fare ,however we do expect hot food to be served HOT.Our table of 4 experienced rookie mistakes on a constant basis.Poor temperature control, poor beef temperature in cooking, cold sauces, nasty frozen peas, and the worst sin of all...poor/no flavor. When tabasco sauce is requested at multiple tables on an evening when the menu does not reflect a need, you know there is a problem.Soups were thin and tasteless.Too many "home style" cooking.I don't cruise to eat meatloaf! Braised beef dishes were good, however you have to be really a poor chef to mess up a meal that stews all day! Never have I felt the need to return a dish as inedible. The Chicken Kiev changed that.Barely able to cut and taste indescribable ,didn't even swallow it.A truly sad testament to the culinary team. Our head waiter wasn't fazed by the comments!
Oddly ,most "chef recommended" dishes were the worst choice.I think you get the point.Breakfast in DR was pretty decent.Hard to mess up lox/bagels/charcuterie and tea.The pastries did not disappoint.
One of the better wheelchair access rooms we have had.Shower ,however too small, and assistive bars poorly located.Auto does a great feature.........
