Being a huge fan of Carnival Cruise Lines for many years, my wife and I decided to celebrate our 20th anniversary on the Carnival Breeze as we had celebrated our honeymoon on the Ecstasy 20 years prior.

We booked our cruise 8 months before sailing thinking we got the best deal we could, well I check pricing 2 weeks before sailing and found that you could get a much better cabin than we had for $300.00 per person less. So I called Carnival to see what they could do and after practically begging them between my wife and I they finally helped us out and gave us a better cabin. They mentioned that we needed to have price protection insurance to get the best price available, never heard of this and it was never offered when we booked directly with them.

Upon embarkation in Miami there was no one to take our picture and our cabin key didn't work. So our first thing we got to do was stand in a long line at customer service to get our keys renewed FUN,FUN. After the dust settled we toured the ship and found it to be without much glamor. This being the premier ship of Carnival I expected a WOW factor, and quite frankly there was none. The ship was nice in a generic sense being fairly new but there just wasn't much to be excited about aesthetically. The food was okay but seems to be slipping compared to our past experiences on Carnival. One of my favorite things to eat on Carnival is the grilled Pastrami sandwich, the pastrami was horrible unless you like to chew on rubber. The entertainment was good especially the comedy, the downfall for the comedy was that you had to get in line 30 minutes before the show to get a seat. Not a relaxing experience in my opinion. On the bright side we did enjoy our cabin as it was roomy and the balcony is great for watching the sunsets, we also did meet some very nice people and our excursions were fun.
