I booked this cruise as part of our honeymoon and splurged on a suite since my hubby has never cruised and I thought the larger room with the balcony would be nice. I have not taken a cruise with Carnival since 2000, so it has been a while. We were both extremely disappointed with our overall experience. From the service, food, lines/wait, crowds, noise from our suite to the overall organization it was pretty awful.

I do have few positives about this cruise and that would be the ship for being older is in fairly good condition and has some nice lounges, decor and the atrium is lovely. Our room (ocean suite) was spacious, clean and we spent a lot of time on our balcony. The steward and his team were very good and kept our room clean and tended to any questions or needs we had.

The dining was horrid. Waiting in line for 35 minutes for a mediocre breakfast buffet was not what I expected. We elected to do the anytime dining for dinner and that was a mistake. We waited 30+ minutes each night to be seated and then waited for the waiter, for drinks, and our food. We missed two shows due to the length of time we spent in the dining room. (2.5 hours one night) The waitstaff was not even friendly, we had two different wait teams and we were not impressed with either of them. The food was very average, some of it I could not even eat. Tasteless, luke warm and boring. Even salt did not help. =) We had one good meal and that was the Sunday brunch. It was the only time they offered filet and it was the highlight of our dining.

Ocean Suite

Our ocean suite was mid ship on the 7th floor. It was more spacious than we expected. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The bathroom was roomy with a vanity/makeup table/desk in front of it. They offer a lot of closet space, a dresser, sofa, table, mini bar, fridge. The room was the best part of our cruise.
