We booked the Celebrity Millennium north east Asia cruise to celebrate wedding anniversaries, and chose the company assuming that it was a class above Royal Caribbean and would live up to its “Modern Luxury” tag line. Unfortunately, it didn’t.
The plus points: excellent itinerary (China, South Korea and Japan), good food in the main restaurant and Ocean View Café, attentive waiter and assistant waiter in the main restaurant, very accommodating hostess in the main restaurant, great dance/singing group.
Mediocre points: attractive public areas, some very good shows but some very poor ones. Small cabin, but it had the usual contents and storage facilities. No sofa though so had to sit on the bed. When it was clear that we weren't spending much on wine in the main restaurant the sommelier didn't make much of an effort to serve us.
We were concerned about being on such a low deck (2), but it was fine - we were well placed for the theatre and getting to all areas of the ship from our cabin was easy. Had adjoining rooms with family, so could hear them talking - would not choose that option again. Very little ship's noise - either had quiet engines or we were far enough from them not to hear!
