After having a gut wrenching experience with our Sea Princess New Zealand cruise being cancelled on 29 September this year (same day it was due to leave), I spent 6 hours on the internet looking for another cruise. I was fortunate enough to get my parents and my own family booked on the Carnival Spirit for a 9 day cruise from Sydney to the South Pacific Island return. Thanks to my wonderful Travel Agent.

The Carnival Spirit is the biggest ship I have ever seen. It is equivalent of 3 football fields in length. We needed a packed lunch for our 3 day trip from one end of the ship to the other, lol. Absolutely beautiful ship, albeit a bit tired. Architecture was awesome. The crew and staff were fantastic. My Dad has special dietary requirements and he was well looked after. The restaurants were beautiful. The food was awesome on some days but pretty average on others, about 50/50 most of the time.

This is a fantastic ship for families with younger children. There are waterslides, mini golf, basketball court, plenty of kids activities. If you are wanting a quieter cruise and want to relax, I would suggest another smaller ship.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

Cabin was spacious enough for 2 adults and one teen. Facilities older but clean and functional. Shower gel, shampoo, tissues, towels etc. supplied. Cupboard space for 3, plenty of storage for suitcases under the main bed. Extended balcony was great. Mini bar fridge (stocked $), TV, water $, airconditioned, phone. You can check your sail and sign card balance on the TV.If you get seasick or motion sickness of any kind, this cabin is not recommended.
