This was our first time on a Princess Cruise Line ship. Our short trip was to Cozumel and back. The Island Princess is a great choice. A medium-sized ship that still provided a lot of quiet spaces. We hardly spent any time in our room because of the full selection of shipboard activities. The food in both the personal service and buffet dining areas were excellent. The chefs deserve a ton of credit. It falls in line with the comments many others have made. Try to select a portside stateroom to avoid the too much sun.
The crew was friendly at all times, our steward, Mario, always knew our names right off, our primary server, Ana, in the Provence Restaurant couldn't have been any better. Everywhere we went, we experienced professional courtesy. Kudos to the captain, the crew, and the entertainers.
The shows we attended were first class. From comedian, to hypnotist, to the shows of "On the Bayou", "Do You Want to Dance", we had a great time.
Yes, the cabin is a little small, but it works for a couple. The balcony was a pleasant space to sit and enjoy the waters.
