My husband and I and our friends Andra and Bud boarded the Viking longboat Ingvi in Amsterdam on June 27th. The crew met us at the dock and took care of all of our luggage. We boarded the ship early and had time to enjoy a delicious brunch and explore the shiny new ship. The staterooms were comfy and the balcony was awesome. We met several couples at diner and then enjoyed visiting for the rest of the day. The river cruising was so much fun as we were able to see things from the river that one might not see from the car--like Noah's Ark( a very large replica complete with animals). The sidetrips that were part of the cruise took us to castles and the Black Forest and to see windmills built in the 1700's. We rode in brand new Mercedes buses complete with a restroom.

The food on board the ship was delicious with many options and wonderful fruits and desserts. We toured the kitchen which is state of the art. The waiters were funny, friendly, and very courteous. They made sure we enjoyed each and every meal.

The cruise experience was just the way it was described in the brochures--a trip of a lifetime. Yes, we would go again.

Cabin Review

The cabin size is perfect for two people and every convenience is provided. We loved the balcony and spent hours there watching people, other ships, and the beautiful shorelines. We will always have a balcony on subsequent cruises. Going through the locks was an awesome experience.
