Cabin: The Haven Owner's Suite with Large Balcony

We splurged, this 3rd NCL cruise in 18 months and stayed in the Haven, cabin 16110. Absolutely wonderful! We usually have a mini suite on deck 10, so this was a real treat. Haven amenities makes you fell like you're in a penthouse in an upscale hotel. Private pool and spa tubs, dining and bar for Haven guests only. Butler service, REAL breakfast in the cabin every morning, snacks, fruit and goodies mid afternoon. Beautifully furnished, soft but not boring colors, very comfortable. Ed and linens. Balcony small but adequate for two adults. Rodney, our butler responded to every request and our cabin attendant very pleasant and efficient. Concierge was very helpful with all requests, and traveling with a partially handicapped person, there are always lots of questions.

Dining throughout the rest of the ship was fine, we don't look for gourmet food for every meal, just not realistic. Main dining room, Tropicana, was very nice with music and dancing every night, the Illusionarium was delightful. Had the dining package on a previous cruise so we did not go that route this time, especially considering Haven dining room was very lovely, ocean view and never a wait.

The only issue I would suggest for NCL is to make some serious provisions for handicap persons. I don't know what other lines do, but excursions are a big hassle. If you are traveling with a motorized scooter, there are few if any vehicles that can accommodate them and the cruise arrangers do not seem very well informed about what happens to these passengers once they are off the ship. Some ports have little buses or golf carts, some do not. If you are lucky enough to be able to use just a walker, the walk from ship to port is still impossible. Either the cruise lines should provide this transport or they should put lots of pressure on the ports to provide transport for disabled. If the cruise lines can buy islands for their passengers, surely they can provide transportation from ship to port and back
