First, Silversea is terrible. This ship is very old and it shows. Our toilet did not flush off and on and the shower backed-up. The staff do not speak English although they try very hard to serve you. We did not get anything we ordered the entire trip at any meal, but finally just ate what was on the plate.

The Silversea management staff are non-existent and when around clearly do not understand English either. We traveled with another couple and were not seated with them on any transportation even though Silversea arranged it as a foursome. There is nothing luxury about this cruise which is what you are supposedly paying upwards of $20,000 per couple for.

Second, the Galapagos is awesome. Ecuador requires their national park staff to lead all tours on all ships so their staff was on board all week. The quides are super and are really the only people you will interact with other than passengers. The wildlife here and geography is beyond description and worth a trip.
