We sailed on the Celebrity Reflection in October 2014. It was an amazing cruise. We had Select Dining and ate in the Main Dining Room every night..sometimes we shared a table and other times we ate by ourselves. It was a nice balance for us. We did not pay any extra for the specialty restaurants...we felt the food in the MDR was excellent and there was no need to go anywhere else. You always had a choice on the menu..the right side of the menu changed every night and the left side stayed the same. So you always had a choice from at least 6 appetizers, entrees and desserts..even vegetarian dishes for those who wanted it! We only experienced slow service one night..and that was because we had been in port all day and everyone seemed to be eating at the same time as us. Other than that, service was always impeccable and prompt. We received the Classic Beverage Package as part of the 123Go promotion, and it was great! The choices of wine were great and my husband was pleased he could drink Heineken beer. Around the pool we drank a cold beer and I tried some speciality drinks which were included in our drink package ($8). We saw no need to upgrade to the Premium package as we don't drink martinis, and any speciality teas and coffees we wanted were included in the Classic package. The rest of the time we ate in the Oceanview Cafe (buffet) which always had an amazing selection of salads, fresh fruits, hot meals both for breakfast and lunch. The personalized egg stations are great..you can get omelettes, poached, fried, scrambled eggs with your choice of toppings. Entertainment was great on board. We sat in several lounges for pre/after dinner drinks and listened to great singers. The shows were entertaining..we especially enjoyed the Salute to Broadway, the Irish star of London's West End and the juggler..very funny! We took the ship sponsored shore excursions at most of the ports of call. In Santorini we took an excursion mainly because we wanted to get to Oia, and be first off the ship and not have to stand in a huge line to get up the cliff by cable car. We were not prepared to either walk up or take a donkey! This excursion tendered us to waiting buses which drove us up the cliff and straight to Oia before it got too crowded! The 1/2 day tour ended in Fira which was perfect and you had free time to look around and make your way back to the cable cars whenever you were ready. We felt all tours including Istanbul, Ephesus, Athens and Leisurely Sorrento booked through Celebrity were worth it. You were always first off the ship when you wanted to maximize every second in these amazing ports, and the guides were always interesting, well educated and maximized your time in every place. I know some people complain about the obligatory "carpet demos", but we could have certainly left if we did not want to stay. We sat through the first one in Istanbul (which I found quite interesting), but in Ephesus, we politely ducked out and it was not a problem at all. We were told by our travel agent to book shore excursions from home, but this did not appear to be really necessary. As long as you book in the first couple of days aboard, you should get a spot. Celebrity's website for viewing shore excursions is not very good, better to wait to see the list from the ship as there are many more options available to you not listed on the website.

Great Greek island cruise. Highly recommended!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah
Cabin 1B
First, the ship is beautiful. Our cabin was on Deck 6, centre of ship. It was a great location except we wish now we had paid a little bit extra and not had a slightly obstructed balcony. The life boats are basically at eye level, and appear in most of the pictures I took from the ship. Not worth the savings in my opinion! Cabins are beautiful and use every bit of space. Very comfortable for a couple.

Great way to see more of the island...taking a bus up the cliff instead of fighting donkeys, people and lines for cable cars...well worth it!
