The Good. Being a bit up the loyalty level helps for a speedy embarkation. From the wharf to my cabin in less than 15 minutes. I did a "walk off" (take your own luggage) disembarkation and I must have blinked and missed it. This was my third cruise on the Radiance and as before the food in the Windjammers was really enjoyable. Best buffet on any ship I have been on. That's it for the good. The Bad. Entertainment? What entertainment? There were no guest performers for the first five days. In our last port before coming home we picked up The Beatnix who did a pretty good job of taking off the Beatle, a hypnotist who spent about half an hour too long on stage and a comedian from Boston who was pretty good but only on for thirty minutes. Staff levels are declining as i have seen over the past four years or so which is very noticeable around the bar areas. Almost impossible to see a drink waiter on the prowl especially around the main pool. As for happy hours, they seem to be a thing of the past no the beverage packages have appeared. My last cruise on the Rhapsody in March this year saw cocktail happy hours in the casino every sea day afternoon. Just one solitary happy hour this trip at 6:00pm on the last night when most people have had enough and are packing their bags. As for my cabin. It was one of the new cabins built last refit when they trimmed a corner off the main dining room. These are midships on deck four and being so close to the machinery spaces have a constant humming vibration coming from the diesel generators. So if you are a light sleeper you might want to give this area a miss. And as for the air conditioner in my room. I can only describe it as uncomfortably warm set on minimum temp. The Ugly. Once again RCCL have found ways of relieving you of your money. Rita's Cantina used to be at the back of the windjammers bistro with reasonably priced food (which I think one shouldn't have to pay for anyway) and happy hour margaritas very afternoon. It is now called Rita's Crab Shack and the cheapest thing on the menu is a hamburger and fries ( next door for free) for USD $11.50. Movies in your cabin have gone to $11.95 for a new release. So be careful what you do with your remote, it's easy to slip one onto your account at the flick of a button. And now for the real ugly. If you want to gamble you will be slugged 5% surcharge to draw out USD to use on the tables and slots. And beer prices. Well I am still fuming over the rise in beer prices since my last cruise in march this year. A stubbie of XXXX was $5.25 and is now $7.25. And that's USD, so do the conversion and that's AUD $8.34. And finally, if you forget to take a bottle of water ashore with you when you hit Noumea you will be slugged USD $6.00 for a 500 ml bottle at the information terminal.

The Bad.

Cabin Review

Cabin 4590
And anybody ending up with cabin 4522 then be prepared for some early morning noise. It is right beneath the promenade deck where the crew enter and exit a gate to the forward cable deck. And they don't care how much noise they make at night when they stack deck chairs.
