This was my second voyage on The Sun. (I am currently at the GOLD level on NCL and will be Platinum after my next cruise soon on The Pearl) (I have already booked too a third trip on the Sun in February departing from TPA) (Also been on The Sky twice, Pearl, Dawn and EPIC (Tranatlantic)
On my first Sun trip I did the Southern Carribbean which entailed visiting Cartegena, Aruba, Curacco, Saint Maarten and Saint Thomas. This trip was also Southern but with different ports which included Saint Thomas and Saint Maarten again (can never get tired of going to either of those ports) and Dominica, Saint Lucia and Barbados which were all delightful to me in and of themselves. Barbados was probably my favorite though.
The service again was impeccable and by chance I got the same Cruise Director Richard who remembered me and I have to say one of the things I love about NCL is that I have always had various members of the crew remember me (even on a different ship) which is astonishing to me given the number of passengers they move. And I love the fact that they take really nice care of the solo traveller. For a variety of reasons, I enjoy cruising solo and NCL has always been awesome in taking care of me. Table for one in the MDR? No problem! Table for one in a specialty restaurant like my favorite Cagney's without a reservation, no problem or another favorite, The Italian. If ever on The Sun you must at least once try the Italian restaurant and I guarantee you that you will want to do it again. I did three times! But all the food was delciious to me in all venues.
Plenty of room, very comfortable and especially liked the location and is why I booked this one in particular. Lots of storage room. Perfect for the solo traveler like myself.
