This ship has been around since 1997, and rebuilt in 2005. Half of the ship looks excellent, and the rest of it is showing it's age. If you look close, you can tell old from new very easily. Getting to Port Canaveral is easy, and parking is easy. It was a pleasant surprise to find signs requesting that we do NOT tip the porters. They were still very helpful as always. Embarkation was easy, and the waiting room is very pleasant. RCCL serves cookies and beverages while you wait. A very pleasant experience, and we were boarding by 10:45 a.m. Even though rooms weren't ready until 1:30, there are plenty of places to sit and relax. The food selection in the Solarium at the Park Café was perfect. We only went to Windjammer buffet once for an afternoon snack. The food there was only fair, but the MDR had fabulous food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was sorry to see that Seattle's Best Coffee is no longer served on RCCL. It is now all Starbuck's which I do not like. The coffee in the MDR tasted better than the coffee from the coffee bar. There is something to eat somewhere for most of the hours of the day. Would appreciate some healthier snack choices during the day rather than just desserts. The room service menu for breakfast includes hot items which is nice if you don't want to go out to eat when you get up in the morning. We used it every morning for coffee and fruit. Nice way to wake up to your day.

The best part for adults is the Solarium where the Park Café is also located. The bartender here was a super nice lady who was always pleasant and efficient. The staff does need to do a better job keeping the under aged children out of the Solarium pool and whirlpools. We did not appreciate the fact that it is posted for 16 and over, and that no staff kept an eye on enforcing that rule. It just gets way too noisy in there when there are children playing in the pools. The Solarium has a glass roof, and on the 2nd level has patio door walls that open to let in the breezes. Usually, it's quiet and relaxing there, until the kids show up.

The people on this weekend cruise (Friday to Monday) were ready to party. You could tell that the groups and families that were there to have fun, and most were friendly. This ship was high energy from the Sail Away party, until we came back to port. They said there were 1500 first time cruisers on board, and most people that I asked said they were enjoyed their cruise.

Cabin Review

Panoramic Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F

The cabin was comfortable, had plenty of storage cabinets and closet space, and the large window provided plenty of light as well as sightseeing. It was showing it's age, though. The mattress was very hard, and two of the pillows needed replacing. The bed was not high enough to store our large suitcases under. That was a storage space issue that was a little irritating. Only a small suitcase fit underneath it. The last afternoon of our cruise, the toilet overflowed all over the floor just as we were leaving the cabin for dinner. It took a phone call to the front desk, and stopping a ship's officer to ask for help, before they sent someone to clean up the mess. We stopped back after dinner, and the bathroom was immaculate. A quick fix and a quick clean up was very much appreciated. Our cabin steward, Lyndon, was exceptional.
