While on vacation in Orlando we decided to take the 4-night cruise to the Bahamas as we always wanted to go there. The cabin we were in was pretty nice and big though it could have been cleaner; there were stains on the carpet. It's easy enough to find everything on the ship but the way to get places is horrible. Not all elevators go to all decks which by the way are named quite illogical too. We were on the so-called Upper deck which was deck 6. To get to Lido deck from our cabin was quite a challenge.

The first big disappointment was the smoking policy. Although there were rules for smoking many passengers did not care and smoked wherever they wanted. Crew members did not object at all. The result is that you smell cigarette smoke all over the ship. Even more ridiculous is that the nightclub Kaleidoscope is a smoking area which basically means that as a non-smoker you cannot go there.

We had hoped for at least one specialty restaurant but there was no such thing. Instead we went to the Fantasy dining room. Big mistake that turned out to be. The waiter we got appointed smelled terrible from his mouth and started by trying to sell us water as if it was wine. We didn't want that and he immediately went on by trying to sell us a three-pack of wine selecion while we already told him we only wanted a glass. He was clearly disappointed. We decided to have a shrimp cocktail and lasagne. Even before the appetizer arrived we were bothered by a photographer wanting to take our picture. NO! The shrimp cocktail had FIVE of them, wow!. While waiting for the main course and drinking from our glass of wine we were bothered (again!) by a guy selling shots. Huh? Seriously? Can't you see we are drinking wine? Do shots not belong in a bar? The lasagne was salty, not just a bit salty, but really salty. We could not finish it. In the meantime a guy dressed as a pirate showed up and yet another photographer. NOT AGAIN! We were offered something else but declined. There wasn't much on the dessert menu we liked and decided to leave. Our waiter was not amused and clearly showed that. From that moment onwards we only ate from the buffet on the Lido deck which was actually a lot better. More quiet too as you do not get interrupted every five minutes.
