Sail Date: Jul 2014

This was our first time on a Princess Cruise. We have traveled on Celebrity a couple of times before. The ship was real nice, especially the Piazza area. I was also impressed on how it never seemed overcrowded in most areas. There were not many young people on the cruise, maybe due to the itinerary. We flew into London the day before departure and took a National Express coach to Southampton. This was a very cheap alternative to car service. Embarkation wasn't bad.

Dining/Bars: We had traditional dining during the late seating at the Bottecelli Dining Room. The food was good, but not great. The service was outstanding, and we were seated with two great couples from Australia. We enjoyed the various snack locations and bars around the ship. The International Cafe in the Piazza area is really pleasant, and the Vines Wine bar in the same area is a great place to relax. The breakfast buffet at the Horizon Court was decent. Nightlife on the ship was mostly subdued. There was always a crowd at the trivia contests, but the dance locations were mainly empty.

Activities: My wife and I don't go to many shows on cruises, so I can't comment on the entertainment. The pool area was nice, and the gym was spacious and well equipped.

Cabin Review

Cabin EE

Small room, which is to be expected. The shower seemed extra small. No balcony, but the window was great. There were quite a few movies shown through the television, so we enjoyed those. The small refrigerator was a nice feature. Overall, we were pleased.
