This was our 21st cruise and first with HAL. We were very pleased even with some minor problems.

We arrived 3 days early to Barcelona and stayed at the Hotel Jazz, which we would recommend. The room was a little on the noisy side from street traffic but not terrible. It was a great location not far from Las Ramblas and near the Metro. We left for the port at 11:30 the taxi was 20 EU and check in was quick and luggage was delivered promptly to our room. Lifeboat drill was outside on the promenade and was a little longer and slightly disorganized. It was uncomfortable staying outside in the heat and having to wait to hear your room number.

ROOM: was on 6th floor with the promenade deck right outside our window. As we usually take a balcony we were a little concerned but it was very convenient and we loved the promenade. We did have some noise issues from the Kitchen above the room but guest relations did there best to minimize it late at night. Read more
