Six of us just returned from a week on the Majesty and I have a lot of issues but first I would like to bring up the positives. The ship is very clean, the cleaning staff are non stop always washing hovering in the public areas etc and our cabin was spotless every day. The bar staff were non stop and worked hard as did the entertainment staff. Embarcation and check in were swift and cases waiting for us when we got to our cabin. All the destinations on the ittinery were excellent (Adriatic Adventure), unfortunately that is were the pleasure ends.

We booked as three couples in a group but were treated as three individual couples and as such we were given different dining times at the captains gala and our transfer to our second week onshore were in different times and coaches. None of us got the cabin we booked under, we requested doubles and all got twins. The worst thing though was the food to the point we were actually laughing when it arrived at the table, cost cutting is very evident here where dishes that are advertised as one thing are something else, IE there was a starter of pork and pistachio pate was actually a small sliced-out of a tin-piece of pistachio spam (I joke not), one night they made such a parade of the baked Alaska and actually paraded this desert though the dining room with the lights off with the desert on fire....only when I looked closely did I see that the desert was just plastic plate covers wrapped in foil and the dessert when it arrived was just Artic roll !!!!!!!.

What annoyed me most though was that all 4 main restaurants served exactly the same menu except for the a la carte with its £20 surcharge.  The main comedy act was Maurice Grumbleweed, seriously where in gods name did they dig him up from? his jokes were older that most of the passengers. And finally I got sick fed up of photographers coming around when you are trying to have a meal or every time you got off the ship just in the desperate hope that I would spend £9.99 on a photo. All that said I would go on a cruise again but there is no chance I would do it with Thompson. Don't let this review put you off, there were many people who were enjoying themselves, the whole experience seemed to be aimed at the over 60's age group and if that is you im sure you will enjoy yourself.
