This cruise features the best of California in 7 days with a taste of Mexico. This was our second California Coastal and first on the Crown Princess. Embarkation was very easy. We are Platinum and boarded very fast when called. The Crown was in great condition. I actually loved this ship. We have been on several Princess ships, and the Crown was my second favorite only to the Ruby, which is its sister ship.

The ice cream bar has improved with nice dishes and caramel added if you request. The new chocolate series of desserts added in the dining room were wonderful! The weather was great for most all of the days.

My brother and sister in law got the unlimited drink package, which runs about $400 with gratuity each for the full 7 days. They seemed to love it. You get a sticker on your cruise card, and with each drink ordered (water, any alcohol beverage, soda, etc.) you have to sign for each drink and it has a zero balance. Also, they could only order one drink at a time and once every five minutes. I thought this was interesting. We did not get the package, but enjoyed watching them order everything from fancy waters in the dining room to fancy foo foo drinks. Lots of fun.

We had a great cabin. This was a first being in the front of the ship. We loved it! No vibration and very little motion except maybe a little rocking from side to side at night at full speed, which put me to sleep.
