Overall, this was a very enjoyable cruise from London (Harwich) to Boston. Our oceanview room was satisfactory and the decor of the ship very nice. Our room steward and waiters all were fine, nothing to complain about. But as others have mentioned, on our thread and in reviews, the food, and some amenities are falling on this ship! After having fantastic dinners on Holland America and Carnival, I expected better. Oh, not all the food was bad. It was just OK, or sometimes served cold, as in the case of my husband. I was disappointed that there was no included lobster night. Thank heaven you could have a good shrimp cocktail or two every night....... There was no selection of salads in the main dining room. I had my salads at lunch, where I could make them myself. One night in the main dining room margarine was in the butter pail! My husband really was annoyed at that. We noticed this only at our table and a few near by, most of the dining room had real butter. To us, this is not acceptable on a ship at all. People are looking for a superior dining experience, not seeing some fake butter on your table!
Up in the Windjammer, again sort of average. We ate only breakfasts and lunches there. Breakfasts were satisfactory; can't complain at all about them. We tried Giovanni's Table, which was slightly disappointing also. Good guacamole for a small charge at Rita's Cantina.
The canned music in the Windjammer was too loud and too much 80's 90'l pop I guess. Not to my taste, and I can't imagine the people older than me would like it either--- and there were a lot of the older crowd on this trans Atlantic. I wish Royal Caribbean would get the hint on that. Why play pop rock when your crowd is mostly well over 60?
My cabin and cabin steward were satisfactory. The large window was very enjoyable.
