I admit going into this weekend getaway that I had low expectations. Boy, was I wrong.
First, a little bit about my wife and I. We are fairly seasoned cruisers, this being our 11th cruise on multiple lines. We chose this cruise because we live 20 minutes from Port Canaveral and the last minute pricing was pretty good. While my review starts off negative, it is in no way reflective of the awesome time we had on this ship.
Port Canaveral parking: I give this a special category because, well, what a ripoff. We had decided to pay the $15/day parking because I had to get back to work on Monday and figured self-parking would be faster than an offsite parking. That was when I learned they charged $15 per calendar day, not $15 per 24-hr day. That is, instead of being charged $45 for Fri @11 thru Mon@8 am, they charged me $60 for the 4 calendar days. To me, that is $20/day.
Cabin Review
Very spacious room with a floor to ceiling window that gives you the view of a balcony room without the price. There was way more storage capacity than needed for a 3 day cruise. Temperature controls were nice and the cabin stayed cool the whole time. Bathroom shower was tiny but the water pressure was awesome. Only two downers were the toilet stayed broken more than it worked. And the bed was like sleeping on a board plus it was too low to allow our luggage to fit underneath. I will say that the toilet issues were fixed (temporarily) very, very quickly. So it ended up being more of a nuisance than anything else. For that one reason, I would not stay in this specific cabin again, but I would recommend the cabin category.
